Fans of racing games who want to get a taste for the high-speed action in an iPhone game will definitely want to check out Cro-Mag Rally. The game puts you firmly in control of a prehistoric–but quite speedy–car that blazes a trail through quaint landscapes. Cro-Mag Rally offers you choice of two different styles of gameplay: Gather and Racing. As the name implies, the Gather mode requires you to pick up as many arrowheads as you can while you course through the track. Simple enough to do, isn’t it? As rudimentary as it is, the Racing mode is even simpler still, and just requires you to speed around the track. I have to say it is the Gather mode that I found the more enjoyable of the two, since it gave me a little more things to do while racing around.
Both playing modes are made all the more entertaining by the addition of various items that can be used to maneuver your way around oil slicks, to avoid bombs and homing pigeons, and many more obstacles-avoiding moves. All of these tools add a great deal to the gameplay of what would otherwise be a fairly rudimentary iPhone game.
Cro-Mag Rally also offers you the choice of 9 racetracks, including: Glaciers, Desert, Jungle, Great Wall, Giza, Crete, Medieval, Atlantis, and Vikings. These different tracks provide enough variety, ensuring that you will never get bored with the game.
Visually speaking, Cro-Mag Rally is quite a stunner of an iPhone game. The graphics are quite pleasing to the eye, with whimsical look and feel that fits the theme rather well. The sound effects are great additions as well, and really serve to add to the playability of this superb iPhone game. At only $1.99, Cro-Mag Rally is one of the best deals in the iPhone game market.
